I’ve always loved to go back through my old sketchbooks and randomly re-draw things here and there. The drawing on the left is from one of my 2009-era sketchbooks. One thing that stands out to me in this side-by-side comparison is that the re-drawn face has a lot more character and energy in it, more of a sense of a real person rather than a static, flat 2D character. Having my drawings be vivid and expressive is something that’s important to me, so I’m pleased to see that I’ve improved in this area and hopefully I’ll continue to improve. :)

hi everyone! got a lot of new drawings to post!
A drawing from months ago, trying out an unfamiliar brush.
this drawing was really fun—the style is different to what I usually do, but I enjoyed it and I’ll definitely keep coming back to it.
inspired by this drawing by Lois Van Baarle, who is my biggest inspiration at the moment.
